Are THHN And THWN The Same Wire?
The “THHN” portion of THHN cables stands for “Thermoplastic High Heat Resistant Nylon Coating”. “THWN” cables have the same characteristics, but the ‘W’ letters in THWN refer to ‘water resistance. ’The main difference between THHN and THWN cables is their maximum recommended operating temperature in wet locations.
